Barley Past & Present

Hamlet Class Winner - Barley

The civil parish of Barley with Wheatley Booth has a population of around 300, with approximately 240 on the electoral roll. It includes the hamlet of Whitehough which is roughly within the area of ‘Wheatley.’ Booth is a word later used to describe some of the hamlets within the Forest of Pendle.

The Parish has been very successful in The Lancashire Best Kept Village competition.

Runners up 2012, 2014, 2015, 2019
